Where to Ask for a Quitman County Record
For current county-jail custody or a local booking record, start with the Quitman County Sheriff's Office and jail contact. Official sources did not publish public lobby hours or a separate jail records-unit schedule, so call before visiting, paying bond, mailing property, or requesting a record in person. Written jail-docket or booking-record requests should be directed to the office that holds the record under the Mississippi Public Records Act, Title 25, Chapter 61.

Use the path that matches the type of record or custody status you are trying to verify.
- For someone who may be in the Quitman County Jail, use the sheriff's office phone number and the jail inmate records guidance. Have the person's full legal name, date of birth or age, arrest date, and arresting agency if known.
- For booking photographs, use the jail roster mugshots page first. Quitman County does not publish an official mugshot gallery, so a written public-record request may be needed.
- For charges filed after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and contact the clerk tied to the court level.
- For the county facility pages, use the footer links for Quitman County Jail and Quitman County CWC.
- For a sentenced state prisoner or someone assigned to Quitman County CWC, search MDOC or contact MDOC Records at P.O. Box 24388, Jackson, MS 39225, 601-933-2889, MDOCRecordsDepartment@mdoc.state.ms.us.
- For a federal prisoner, use the BOP inmate locator. For immigration detention, use ICE ODLS; Quitman County does not have a confirmed BOP or ICE detention facility.
Once a case moves from booking into court, the sheriff may not be the best source for docket filings, court dates, or charge amendments.
